Vomando app privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-09-27

Who is responsible

Stanley Kunz Pazer, operator of Vomando, Ruta 1 km 51, Departamento de San José, Uruguay. Contact: contact@vomando.com. This policy covers the Vomando app for Android, iOS and the web. The website vomando.com has its own, shorter policy.

The short version

You can learn without an account: your progress then stays on your device. There are no ads, no advertising IDs, no tracking across apps or websites and no selling of data. An account is optional and only needs an email address.

Learning without an account

Your progress, your Paco, your settings and your answers are stored only on your device. If usage statistics are switched on (see below), a small record of app events is sent to our server with a random device identifier – no name, no email.

Your account

If you create an account, we store your email address (to send you a one-time sign-in code – there is no password), your learning progress (lessons, results, streak, review items, Paco's stage and outfit, earned coins), the language and daily goal you chose, your timezone and app language, your reminder settings, and optionally a display name and your Paco's name.

Your answers in exercises are sent to our server to be checked; we keep the result (for example correct or incorrect and your progress), not a transcript archive.

When you create an account on a device where you already learned as a guest, that progress is moved to your account.

Leagues

With an account you take part in weekly leagues by default. The other learners in your group see your display name (or "Learner" if you set none), your Paco's stage and outfit, your streak and your league points – never your email. You can leave leagues at any time in Profile → Account.

Microphone and speech

The microphone is used only while you tap the microphone button in a speaking exercise. Speech is turned into text by your device's speech recognition service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS, your browser on the web), which may process the audio on its own servers under its own privacy terms. Vomando receives only the recognised text, never the audio, and stores no recordings. Spoken examples are read aloud by the voices built into your device.

Reminders

Reminders are optional. If you switch them on, your device schedules them locally; we ask for the notification permission only at that moment. We do not use push tokens.

Usage statistics

To see which parts of Vomando help people learn, the app records events such as "lesson started" or "lesson finished" with a random device identifier, the platform and the app version, and – when you are signed in – your account ID. These statistics go only to our own database; we use no third-party analytics or advertising tools. You can switch them off at any time in Profile → Share usage statistics.

AI features

The current version of the app contains no features that send your texts to an AI provider. If we add such features, we will update this policy and tell you in the app before they are used.

Purchases

The current version of the app sells nothing and processes no payment data. If paid plans are added later, payments will be handled by Apple or Google and this policy will be updated.

Service providers and where data is stored

Supabase Inc. hosts our database, sign-in and server functions in its São Paulo (Brazil) region.

Resend, Inc. sends the sign-in code email.

Both act only on our instructions. Outside Uruguay, data is protected by their contractual commitments.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed from our database immediately. Usage statistics are kept without any link to your account after deletion, and only as long as they are needed for these statistics. On your device, deleting the account removes everything Vomando stored except your appearance settings; as a guest you can reset your progress in Profile.

Your rights and choices

In the app you can export your data (Profile → Account → Download my data) and delete your account (Profile → Account → Delete account). How to delete it without the app: see Delete your Vomando account.

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use by writing to contact@vomando.com. In Uruguay, Law 18.331 applies and the supervisory authority is the URCDP. If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the rights it grants, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. We use your data to provide the app you asked for, and usage statistics based on our legitimate interest in improving it – which you can switch off.

Children

Vomando is not directed at children under 13. To create an account you must be at least 13, or older where the law of your country requires it. If you believe a child gave us personal data, write to contact@vomando.com and we will delete it.

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). On our server, each account can read and change only its own data.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes. Important changes are announced in the app.
